I am so excited this week!
I’ve been working on a new project for quite some time now, and finally things are coming together. After working with leather and fabric for so long, I returned to basics, where it all began for me – paper. Yesterday I launched my new Digital Scrapbooking Paper Line. I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner, but I guess my craze for colors and patterns made it eventually inevitable… :)
Naturally I couldn’t wait to try them out myself, so I printed out a few of these digital files and made some new desk organizers for my studio. The tutorial is right ahead, but first I wanted to give you a gift, as a way to share my excitement about this new project with you: a free digital download of one of my new paper designs.
There will be more tutorials and freebies coming up soon. In the meantime here’s an easy tutorial that will bring some color to your desk:
How to make desk organizers using cans and colorful scrap-booking paper
These are great for your home, office or studio and as a unique handmade gift as well. You’ll need tin cans, printable scrap book paper, measuring tape, scissors and glue or double sided tape.
- Print the digital scrapbooking paper with the design of your choice.
- Measure the tin’s height and cut the scrapbook paper to a wide strip accordingly.
- Use glue or double sided tape to secure one edge of the paper strip to the can and start wrapping.
- Leave an overlap of about 0.5” (1.5 cm) and secure the overlapping edge with glue or double sided tape.
That’s all there is to it! Now go collect your free gift and use it to make some beautiful desk containers of your own!
