A while ago I designed this modular leather cuff. It has two options for wearing: Bow-Tie style and Folded style, which you can achieve by adding and removing the metal ring.
The idea of a modular fashion accessory which can be easily transformed to match your overall look fascinated me, so I looked around and found some brilliant ideas:
This fold over clutch bag by Grace Design has a simple yet clever idea. What I like about it most is that the pattern works great in both options of the bag and creates quite a different look for each of them.
These modular leather bracelets by Camille Roussel are a lot of fun. Each bracelet is a combination of colorful leather “chain links” which are reversible and adjustable. You can mix and match these leather modules to create a new accessory for every look.
Lastly, I came across these amazing modular shoes by Daniela Bekerman. This project is called ZE O ZE (which is Hebrew for ‘This or that’) and deals with creating identity through your shoes. By replacing the heel the wearer can create different looking shows to match different outfits and styles.
Did you come across a brilliant modular fashion design or maybe even created one yourself?
